WeCode Supports Digital Empowerment for Immigrant Women at DigiUp Workshop

On May 27, 2025, representatives from WeCode Platform took part in the DigiUp Project workshop organized by Moniheli – Network of Multicultural Associations, in collaboration with Nordic partners. The participation was made possible by Kadir Yapar, who ensured that WeCode could contribute to this meaningful initiative.

The focus of the workshop was to co-design a digital toolbox tailored for trainers working with immigrant women, aiming to strengthen their digital skills, confidence, and access to information in an increasingly digital society.

WeCode Platform shared its experiences in IT training and community support, contributing to the creation of tools that are user-friendly, culturally sensitive, and practically oriented. Discussions revolved around accessibility, digital literacy pedagogy, and the needs of trainers supporting women from diverse backgrounds.

“This project is not just about technology, it’s about empowerment and inclusion,” said Kadir Yapar, who volunteered at the event. “We are proud to support efforts that make real, everyday impacts for women who deserve opportunities to grow and thrive in a digital world.”

The workshop was filled with collaborative spirit, cross-cultural dialogue, and a shared sense of purpose among Nordic and Finnish stakeholders. For WeCode, it was another step forward in its mission to create inclusive pathways into the tech world for marginalized communities.

We extend our thanks to Moniheli and our Nordic partners, and especially to Kadir Yapar, whose efforts enabled WeCode’s involvement in this powerful and promising project.
