WeCode at Junction 2025

Last week, WeCode proudly participated in Junction 2025, one of Europe’s largest and most inspiring hackathons, hosted at Aalto University in Espoo. For three days, thousands of developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts from around the world came together to create innovative solutions under intense, creative, and highly collaborative conditions.
Our presence at Junction was an important milestone for WeCode. The event allowed us to connect with the international tech community, strengthen our visibility in Finland’s growing tech ecosystem, and showcase the talent and dedication within our own community.
One of the highlights of this year’s participation was a WeCode member’s contribution to Wolt’s Challenge—an AI-powered feature designed to improve the food-ordering experience.
This prototype was built during the 40-hour hackathon and tackled everyday situations such as:
🍕 Ordering food when you’re hungry
🗣️ Explaining what you want to eat
🌍 Discovering local cuisine when traveling

The solution introduced several key features:
- Instant personalized food recommendations
- Voice-based search for cravings
- Local cuisine discovery when abroad
Does it solve every user pain point? Kind of.
Is the UX flawless? Maybe not.
Was it worth 40 hours of planning, coding, and design? Absolutely.
WeCode’s participation—represented this year by Muhammed Sezer, Zeynel Abidin Karadiş, and Aidar A.—not only strengthened our team spirit but also helped us introduce WeCode to a wider international audience.
We are excited for future events, new collaborations, and continued growth as a community.
✨ Thank you to everyone who represented WeCode and made this experience unforgettable!
