Mentorship and Career Guidance

One-to-one career guidance from people who work in IT in Finland, by phone or face to face. Ask for a mentor through the contact page.

WeCode is always ready to offer one-to-one guidance to people who want to start or move forward in an IT career in Finland. When someone asks for help, we put them in touch with a person who works in the field, and the guidance happens one to one, by phone or face to face.

How to ask for a mentor

Write to us through the contact page and tell us briefly about your background and what you would like help with: choosing a direction, your CV, job applications, interviews or the Finnish job market. We will get back to you and find a suitable person for you to talk to.

Events that opened doors to mentoring

IT Talks. Online talks where people working in IT explain their field and how to get into it. Several, such as IT Talks 18 and IT Talks 22, focused on recruitment and job interviews.

Career events. At a networking and training event with Startup Refugees in Kumpula (April 2024), participants could get personal advice from a certified career coach. At Lippulaiva Library (August 2024), participants put their own questions to recruitment experts.

Empowering Immigrant IT Professionals. A three-month training project with FinPolar (April–June 2025) for immigrant IT professionals, with workshops on CVs, LinkedIn, networking and interview practice.
